As a quartet they have received tuition from a number of professionals, including Alasdair Tait, Jo Cole, Pavel Fischer, members of the Endellion and Navarra Quartets, Marc Danel, Malcolm Layfield, Emma Ferrand, Simon Rowland Jones, Bernard Gregor-Smith, Reiner Schmidt, Ole Bohn, Goetz Richter, Johannes Meissl and Roger Benedict.
In January 2008 the String Quartet opened the RNCM's Chamber Festival, performing Mozart's 'The Hunt'. They also premiered a performance in the Colin and David Matthews Festival, and recorded works of RNCM student composers which they went on to perform live at the Northern Ballet School in May. The quartet have performed in a number of venues including Didsbury's Emanuel Church, Edinburgh's St. Giles Cathedral, and Sydney's Christ Church on Lavender Bay.
The quartet were recently awarded 'highly commended' in the RNCM Hirsch Prize 2008 and were selected to represent the college in Sydney, Australia as part of the first chamber ensemble exchange between the RNCM and Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Whilst in Australia the quartet gave regular performances as well as receiving personal and ensemble tuition.
The quartet wish to continue to perform together, and are furthering their studies at a postgraduate level at the RNCM.
